What is HQ trivia?
HQ Trivia is an iOS mobile app trivia game that allows users to compete live, just like a game show. Participants answer multiple choice general trivia questions live and compete against each other, and are eliminated when they get a question wrong. The winner receives a $1000 (or more) prize.
Currently, HQ Trivia offers a show twice per day, once at 9 p.m. (EST), and at 3 p.m. (EST) on weekdays. The show runs live, so you must tune in within a few minutes of that time. Once you sign in, you’re set to play, and can begin answering questions. The game only lasts for about 10 minutes.

How to win money on HQ trivia
HQ Trivia is completely free to download and play, so you have nothing to lose. Because a participant is eliminated as soon as they get a question wrong, almost half of the people playing end up exiting the game after each question. To win, you must make it to the end, and if you do, you will receive a $1000 prize (or sometimes more). If multiple people make it to the end (usually only 2-4 people), the winners split the prize money evenly.
If you win, all you need to do is link your PayPal account to the HQ Trivia app, and you can cash your money out at any time!
2 winning strategies for HQ trivia
1. Play with friends and split the money.
The math is simple: the more people you play with, the better your odds are of winning. If you can find 3 or 4 friends to play with you, and make a deal to split the money at the end, then you can increase your chances of winning! Playing with friends helps you in two major ways:
- More chances to win – By adding more people, you’re likely to get farther in the game. The more people playing, the more likely one of you is to know the correct answer. Play in the same room, and make sure people shout out correct answers to help everyone progress farther in the game.
- Beat the odds and split your answer – If you are unsure of an answer, and have at least 4 people playing, because the game offers you 4 choices for your answer, the 4 of you can each choose a different option, meaning at least one of you will get it right. Of course, the other 3 will be eliminated, so make sure you save this tactic for your end game, to help you get past those challenging final questions.
2. Designate a researcher to help find answers quickly.
The clock counts down so quickly, that it’s almost impossible for you to be able to look up the answer while playing – you also can’t navigate away from your screen while participating in the game. However, if you have a friend with you who can quickly look up answers on a different device in the room, it may be possible to find the correct answer on the Internet in only a few seconds. Not every question will have an answer that can be quickly searched in this way, but some can, and it never hurts to try.
